School of Love

Love is the most powerful emotion we can experience. It is an invisible, unifying force that holds humanity together. Without it, there would be no incentive for us to form bonds with one another. Our soul’s capacity for love is the single most important gift we have been given on this earth. It offers us opportunities to grow and transform ourselves from the inside out. Through loving one other, we learn forgiveness, feel compassion and empathy, and we seek the adventure of lifelong companionship. Our hearts open wide when we express love and this produces a physiological effect felt throughout the entire body from the neurochemicals produced.

Some philosophers propose that our entire purpose here on earth is to love, that this is a school for learning to grow our love. This resonates with me because it speaks to the primacy of love. The creation of life is the product of love and the source of it for a lifetime. It is the force that propels us to become better mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, and friends. It knits our communities together like a quilt by caring for those in need and sharing with those less fortunate.

Since the invention of the internet, the world is connected like never before. We now have endless opportunities to share our love with others, whether virtually or in person. We are at a point where we can create a world more filled with love than ever before. What would the world look like if we could eliminate war and hatred by simply holding love for those who haven’t figured out that they are in school to learn to love too? It’s harder to hate someone that loves you. What if you could be the change you want to see in this world by spreading more love around?
