Heather Graeme, MA, LMT
Professionally, Heather Graeme is a licensed massage therapist, massage educator, and owner of the Therapeutic Massage Center in St. Petersburg, Florida since 2003. She specializes in relieving muscle pain with a combination of neuromuscular, myofascial, and stretching techniques. Heather has been interested in how the human body moves through space her entire life. She was introduced to movement with dance classes at 4 years old and continues to dance, practice yoga, and stretch to this day (See her Stretch and Swing class on the Classes page).
She has studied with leading educators in the field including: NMT American style with Judith Delany, Academy of Clinical Massage course with Whitney Lowe, Thai massage with Melissa Manna, and Aaron Mattes’ Active Isolated Stretching.
In 2010, she joined the faculty at the Cortiva Institute and taught a variety of massage courses for nearly ten years. Her passion for teaching led her to create continuing education courses for LMTs, which she teaches in Florida, Mexico, and Kenya (2023). See the CEU classes page for more information.
Heather also created a YouTube channel in which she shares short, instructional videos of techniques, as well as tips, guest instructors, and interviews.
Before Heather found her calling for massage, she pursued an interest in ancient history and earned a BA in Classics from the University of Florida (1989), a MA in Classics from Colorado University (1995), attended the College Year in Athens (’92-’93). Having been bitten by the travel bug, she and a friend backpacked the world from May 1996 to May 1997.
It is a dream come true to combine her two loves and share her passion for therapeutic massage therapy with students all over the world!
